DR. DONNA PRATT: I've been doing infertility exclusively since, well let's say for a long time, over 20 years. I did my college and got my Bachelor of Science degree at Hampton University in Virginia. I went to Rush University. My fellowship was at Michael Reese Hospital in obstetrics and gynecology. I then actually went back to Rush and then traveled for a while and did medicine overseas. Came back and did my fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Michael Reese.

What attracted me about the field were primarily the advances that were going on at the time I entered it and decided to go back and do my fellowship, concerning the technology. And the technology was going so fast and was so fascinating that the opportunity that this was going to bring to assist many couples in achieving families was phenomenal. Particularly at that time it was very, very hard for couples to adopt babies and I was absolutely fascinated by what this was going to bring to the future of couples who were infertile. It was the beginning of a new frontier and I wanted to have my foot in the door.
